Dr. Ulrich Niederer

Dr. Ulrich Niederer, born 1947 in Switzerland, is Member of the Advisory Board of Montana Capital Partners. He is currently also Chairman of the UBS Alternative Portfolio AG, member of several pension fund investment committees.

Following his thesis in theoretical physics at Basel University and years of research Ulrich got involved in the quantitative investment research for former Swiss Bank Corporation as quantitative research analyst in 1986. In 1990 he was appointed Co-head of Institutional Asset Management, later Chief Investment Officer Switzerland and Global Head of Structured Investments as well as Head of the Alternative Investment Management Business (including Private Equity, Hedge Funds and Infrastructure). In 2001 Ulrich was appointed Chairman of UBS Global Asset Management Switzerland. He was a member of the Swiss Stock Exchange’s Index Commission and member of the advisory board of several Swiss Pension Funds, asset managers and venture capitalists.

Ulrich holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Basel.
