“Financial Crisis Funds Strike Back” published by PEI

mcp is happy to announce its latest publication that analyses the returns on funds from different vintage year groups, measured by the pace and magnitude of distributions over time. The study, titled "Financial Crisis Funds Strike Back", was published in the April edition of Private Equity International magazine and provides interesting insights into the cash flow behaviour of funds closed in different business cycles.

This research, an update to our 2012 analysis, finds that the exit environment in recent years has particularly benefitted 2008-2010 vintages: the 'financial crisis' funds. Based on returns to investors, these funds increasingly resemble some of the best eras in history, such as the 'golden 80s'.
